Our Story.

The Seven Seas Hotel has been standing proud and serving Carrington since 1937. The site was originally home to The Cross Keys, built in 1886, but was knocked down after Tooth & Co. purchased the pub to make way for the iconic, art deco style pub we know and love today.

With the rebuilding of the Pub in 1937, a few names were proposed such as; Quarter Deck, Sea Port, Coal Trimmer, Crane & Silo, Collier, Salt Spray, Pursers Crib and the Tot O’Rum. Eventually, the Sydney manager of Tooth & Co. landed on the ‘Coal & Steel’. After much debate, the Newcastle manager argued that because of the bulk of the trade being from the shipping industry, The Seven Seas was much more suitable.

The present day Seven Seas still stays true to its roots, offering cold beers, traditional pub food and old fashioned hospitality. The pub is full of history and character and a local favourite. Come in for a drink, some food or some live music.
